LAAAMP sponsors the 3rd Aldo Félix Craievich synchrotron school
LAAAMP proudly supports the third edition of the Aldo Félix Craievich School, to be held in Buenos Aires from 25 November to 3 December 2025.
LAAAMP is honoured to sponsor the third edition of the Aldo Félix Craievich School, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 25 November to 3 December 2025.
This school series, directed by Dr Diego G. Lamas, continues the legacy of Aldo Félix Craievich, a pioneering crystallographer who played a key role in the development of the first synchrotron facility in South America, the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) in Campinas. As the laboratory’s first Deputy Director and Head of the Scientific Department, Aldo was instrumental in designing its initial beamlines and fostering a vibrant user community throughout Latin America.
Aldo was also a close friend of LAAAMP, and one of the speakers at our launch event, where he shared his vision for strengthening scientific collaboration and access to synchrotron facilities across developing regions.
Discussions are currently underway for LAAAMP to become a permanent partner of the Aldo Félix Craievich School series, with the goal of expanding our synchrotron training opportunities and supporting capacity building in regions where access to large-scale research infrastructure remains limited. Through this partnership, LAAAMP reaffirms its commitment to advancing equitable scientific development and to honouring Aldo Craievich’s enduring contribution to the synchrotron community.
