Apply now for the next training session at the X-TechLab

Only 10 days left now to apply for the May 2020 training session, which will focus on single-crystal structure determination. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own samples. 

27The 1st X-TechLab training session of the year 2020 in “Crystallography & X-Ray Diffraction Techniques” and “Tomography & Mathematical Engineering” will be held at Agence de Développement de Sèmè City - Cotonou, Benin Republic from 18 to 29 May 2020.

The training session is an intensive course on theoretical and practical aspects of crystal structure determination by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and the development of a novel approach that combines constitutive thermomechanical laws for heterogeneous materials with X-ray imaging techniques for materials engineering applications.

It will cover:

• Crystal symmetry
• Crystal diffraction: theory and experiment
• Crystal growth techniques
• X-ray Tomography application
• Image correlation applied to solids mechanics

Participants will have the opportunity to collect data from their own crystals using Bruker D8 QUEST.

This workshop is most suitable for Master Degree & PhD students and Postdocs. This training session will be entirely taught in English.

Participants from all countries will be considered. However, qualified applicants from African universities will be preferred.

Online applications are open until 27 March 2020. A total of 20 participants will be selected by training area. The selection results will be announced by 1 April 2020.
