On 10 May 2018, Sandro Scandolo (ICTP, Trieste; member of LAAAMP Executive Committee) highlighted LAAAMP activities during the panel discussion “Science Models and Development” at the Science for Development meeting 2018, held in Quy Nhon, Vietnam.

Sceince for Development is a periodic meeting that is organized by a group of Vietnamese scientists living in France under the patronage of the President of the French Republic and the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. It is co-sponsored by a number of organizations, including the IUPAP C13 Commission for Development, the French Physical Society and UNESCO. Many prominent scientists attended the 2018 meeting, including Sarawut Sujitjorn, Director of the Synchrotron Light Research Institute in Thailand (SLRI); two Nobel Laureates; Michel Spiro, President-Designate of IUPAP; scientists from CERN; and Hirotaka Sugawara, the former Director of KEK.

Director Sujitjorn, whose laboratory is now a LAAAMP partner, discussed the LAAAMP project during his presentation. The LAAAMP Executive Committee is most appreciative of his comments on LAAAMP to the audience.
